The high-sensitivity capacitive touch panel has a simple structure consisting of vitrified and laminated X and Y electrodes, with the X electrode also serving as the electromagnetic shield. Eliminating any additional shield reduces costs greatly, achieving low prices even in the test production phase. The simple structure also permits production of large-sized units and is compatible with either glass- or resin-cover windows. These features contribute to the freedom of product design.
